Where the claims stand
This story tracks a narrow question: whether official state audits, recounts, or legislative investigations documented fraud at a scale that would have changed any state's certified 2020 presidential outcome. It does not address every allegation about the election, every local irregularity, or nationwide prevalence of fraud.

as of August 4, 2026Multiple states conducted recounts, risk-limiting audits, or legislative reviews after the 2020 election. The publicly available primary records from these processes have not documented fraud large enough to reverse any state's certified presidential winner, although reviewers in some states recommended procedural improvements.
Confidence — current state
The strongest artifacts are official state audit reports, recount certifications, and legislative investigation documents. Georgia's statewide risk-limiting audit, Wisconsin's partial recount certifications, Maricopa County's forensic equipment audit, Michigan's Senate Oversight report, and Arizona's Senate-commissioned review each examined fraud allegations and certified vote totals. An Arizona Attorney General investigation later found Cyber Ninjas fraud allegations referred from that review to be unfounded. A Stanford-MIT survey of battleground recounts and contests, and a later PNAS analysis of nation-scale postelection audits, likewise found that recounts and audits did not change certified presidential results. None of these reviews documented sufficient fraudulent ballots to alter the certified winner in that state.
This is our best read given the published evidence we have reviewed — not a claim of absolute truth.
